The main event for UFC on ESPN 59 is officially confirmed, but there was some drama at the weigh-ins.
Former Ultimate Fighting Championship strawweight champion Rose Namajunas moved up to flyweight with ease, but her opponent, Tracy Cortez, did not: Cortez started out overweight at 126.5 pounds, but later dropped to 126 after cutting some of her hair. All the other fighters also lost weight.

Namajunas (12-6) recently bounced back from two straight losses with a unanimous decision win over Amanda Rivas. Currently 1-1 at flyweight, “Thug Rose” is looking to become a two-division title contender. The 32-year-old Namajunas stepped on the scales at 124.75 pounds.
Meanwhile, Cortez (11-1) is riding an impressive 11-fight winning streak. The 30-year-old is undefeated at UFC with a 5-0 record, most recently winning by decision over Jasmine Jasudavicius and Melissa Gatto.
UFC on ESPN 59 will be broadcast in its entirety on ESPN and ESPN+ on Saturday, with prelims beginning at 7pm ET/4pm PT and the main card starting at 10pm ET/7pm PT.
