Two more fights have been added to the UFC 303 lineup, with Joe Pifer taking on Marc-Andre Barrio in the middleweight division and Michelle Waterson-Gomez taking on Jillian Robertson in the strawweight division.
The Las Vegas-based promotion announced the pairing on Wednesday. UFC 303 will take place on June 29th at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and will be headlined by a welterweight showdown between Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler.
After winning his first three fights in the Octagon by within striking distance, Pifer suffered his first loss in the promotion at UFC Fight Night 236, dropping a five-round decision to Jack Hermansson in the night’s headliner on February 10th. . Barrio was unsuccessful in his first fight of 2024, falling by split decision to Chris Curtis at UFC 297 on January 20th. The Canadian, known as “Power Bar,” had finished the season 2-0 the year before, when he won the prize. He has back-to-back wins over Julian Marquez and Eric Anders.
Waterson, a former Invicta FC atomweight champion, is currently on a four-fight losing streak. “The Karate Beauty” last appeared at UFC Fight Night 228, where she lost by second-round TKO to Marina Rodriguez.
Meanwhile, Robertson has won three of his last four fights under the UFC banner. This is her return from UFC Her 297 where she stopped Pollyana Viana in two rounds.
