Following the weigh-ins at UFC Fight Night 246, it has been officially confirmed that the Ultimate Fighting Championship will be held in Alberta, Canada.
The 14-fight card will be topped by a flyweight main event between Brandon Moreno and Amir Albazi. Both fighters weigh 125.5 pounds and are fit for a five-round scrap. The other 26 fighters on the card have also successfully adjusted their weight for the fight, so the card will continue as scheduled.
Moreno (21-8-2) is looking to end a two-fight losing streak after suffering back-to-back split decision losses to Brandon Roybal and Alexandre Pantoja. The former champion had defeated Kai Kara-France and rival Deiveson Figueiredo before the latest upset. At just 30 years old, ‘Assassin Baby’ will show that he is still a fighter on the rise.
Meanwhile, this will be Albaji’s second fight in the main event (17-1). “The Prince” is on a six-fight winning streak, including victories over Kara France and Alessandro Costa. The Iraqi fighters will aim to become title contenders if they win.
UFC Fight Night 246 will be broadcast in its entirety on ESPN+. Preliminaries begin at 5:00 PM ET / 2:00 PM PT, and the main card begins at 8:00 PM ET / 5:00 PM PT.
