Ultimate Fighting Championship is marking a milestone this weekend with its 100th event from UFC Apex, with several bouts set for the UFC Fight Night 247 card in limbo after official weigh-ins. I am doing it. The highlight of Saturday’s show will be a five-round fight between Neil Magny and Carlos Preetz, as the veteran fights a dangerous opponent to maintain his spot in the welterweight division. While both main event fighters managed to make weight, the same could not be said for the rest of the lineup. Substitute Zach Scroggin (174 pounds) will be over the 171-pound cap ahead of his match against Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos, while Melissa Mullins (137 pounds) will be back under the cap before her match against Claudia Scigulla. I made a mistake in my weight. Both heavy fighters have been fined and negotiations are underway to keep the bout. In addition, Ricky Turcios went down with a medical problem shortly after gaining weight and was removed from the pairing with Bernardo Sopay, taking him out of the lineup for this contest.
This will be the fourth time Magny (29-12) has headlined a UFC card. However, “The Haitian Sensation” has struggled of late, losing two of his past three bouts, including a TKO victory over Mike Marotte and losses to Ian Garry and Michael Morales. The 37-year-old wants to prove he still has what it takes against an opponent six years his junior. The American’s official weight since turning pro was 171 pounds.
This will be Preez’s first UFC main event (20-6). The 31-year-old prospect, who currently owns a 3-0 record inside the Octagon with wins over Jinliang Li, Charlie Radtke and Trevin Giles, is a true prospect if he can pass his toughest test yet. will be shown. The Brazilian is on an impressive 10-fight winning streak and steps on the scale at 170.5 pounds.
UFC Vegas 100 will air in its entirety on ESPN+ on Saturday. Preliminaries begin at 4:00 PM ET/1:00 PM PT, with the main card kicking off at 7:00 PM ET/4:00 PM PT.
