“The Hulk” has a Dagestan fever, and his only prescription is the knee on his face.
A fresh return from his victory in submission to Amenpetro-Russian at UFC 313, Bruno Ferreira is eager to look ahead in the turbulent middleweight division. His victory was second in two weeks for the octagon as teammate Blendson Ribeiro hit Diyal Nurgotshei at UFC Fight Night 254 last week. When he talks to Sherdog about his recent success on Tuesday, he will attribute some of it to a special training camp founded by director Andre “Dida” Amado, who he had a few weeks of enjoyment.
“Two weeks and two wins due to submissions to Brazil’s TKO,” Ferreira celebrated. “Chris Cyborg has a CT house like the CT house for combat teams with all the structures, rings, octagons, pools and saunas, and Master Diddy started it and rented it for us for two weeks.
The victory courtesy of the arm triangle choke marked Ferreira’s first obedience since competing for Ewarton Polachini in the same maneuver in August 2021.
“My nature is grappling,” explained Ferreira. “I played in judo for nine years at 90kg. [198 pound] category. When I started training for MMA with DIDA, I added weapons to an impressive game. So the four UFC victories were by KO or TKO and had to show grappling. They already knew the power of my hands, but now they know about my ground skills. ”
In a past interview with Sherdog, Ferreira said he wanted to face a Russian-born competitor. That feeling hasn’t changed.
“When I interviewed Shardog saying I wanted to fight the Russians, Kopirov of Rome responded and our fight was scheduled for August 24th. Unfortunately, he was injured and returned against Chris Curtis.
After two Daguestani athletes insisted on the belts of two of the most popular Brazilian fighters, Alex Pereira and Charles Oliveira, Ferreira has been cooking ways to beat enemies in the region. In doing so, he plans to create a recipe to stop the so-called “Dagestan Storm.”
“I think people will create monsters from these Russians, even if they are unintentionally,” Ferreira said. “They certainly train a lot and are cold in combat, but as Master Dida says, Khabib
[Nurmagomedov] He didn’t have a knee in his mouth so he got where he was. In MMA, judo works better against Sambo than wrestling. I believe my judo, my jiu-jitsu, and my combat intelligence have made me stand out against these Russians. ”
In addition to not letting Magamedo Ankaraev kneel on his face, Ferreira suggests that Pereira has lost the light heavyweight throne due to a distraction away from training.
“If ‘Poitan’ had been 100% focused on his camp, then if he had put his commitment aside for a while, the fight could have been different,” Ferreira said flatly. ”
Ferreira has a unique opportunity to train with three idols, as Rafael Cordeiro and Fabric Welldam go to Kuritiba, Brazil, and train in Brazilian TKO for Welldam’s GFL debut.
“I was talking about ‘landado’ [Bruno
Silva] Today, about the privilege of training with our idol, Wonder Ray
[Silva]Welldam, Rafael Cordeiro,” he revealed. They have another drive. It’s hard to imagine learning every day and not being able to receive energy during camp. I’ve already returned from training in Vegas. ”
“The Hulk” has not yet skipped a day’s workout, as such a name is in the room. The Brazilian is currently taking part in the final battle of his current UFC trade, and he is working hard to prepare for the next challenge the promotion poses on him, and is a bit worried.
“There’s nothing better than starting a fight in the first few months,” Ferreira said. “I’m already back in training and just waiting for a call from the UFC. I can’t wait to go back to the Octagon and have another exciting fight for the fans.”
