Martial arts fans witnessed one of the rarest and most disgusting occurrences in all of mixed martial arts (MMA) on Friday night (April 19, 2024) at the Dynasty Combat Sports 91 event in Lincoln, Nebraska. . Unable to continue.
As you may know, throwing guts during an amateur or professional MMA match is not acceptable. It doesn’t happen all that often in this sport, but when it happens, the fight is quickly called off. Not only because the fighter is sick and probably feeling terrible, but also because of the cleanup. I don’t care how tough an MMA fighter is, no one wants to fight through sticky canvas vomit.
On Friday, middleweight prospect Kwajuane Mensah was unable to eat lunch. During an undercard match against the inexperienced Zack Ross Williams, Mensah vomited some kind of blue vomit. It landed in the middle of the Dynasty Combat Sports cage as Ross Williams raised his hands in disgust and walked away. It’s unclear at this time exactly why Mensah fell ill during the match, but it wasn’t a great scene.
Check it out in the video player above.
Currently 2-3 in his amateur MMA career, Mensah will certainly have a chance to bounce back later this year and correct the mistakes he made inside the cage on Friday night. He may have been feeling the effects of the fight itself, improper weight loss, food poisoning, or any other influence that would cause a fighter to almost throw up on his opponent.
