Ilya Topria further challenged Belal Muhammad while expressing his desire to become a triple champion.
Topria is scheduled to make his first defense of the featherweight title this Saturday against Max Holloway in the main event of UFC 308 at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. El Matador recently revealed that his ultimate goal is to become a three-division champion.
“Probably a three-division world champion, that’s my goal,” Topria recently told TNT Sports. You’ll never see me this skinny at welterweight. You will see me differently. That’s the goal. Move up to lightweight, get the belt, then move up to welterweight. ”
UFC 308: Topuria vs. Holloway takes place Saturday at 2pm ET on ESPN+. Order now!
Topria has recently targeted both lightweight champion Islam Makhachev and welterweight champion Muhammad. Topuria remains largely respectful of Makhachev, but gets carried away on “Remember the Name,” which he perceives to be a lackluster style. Recently, Topuria once again pointed out the lack of finishing on Muhammad’s record. Topria also claims that if Muhammad remains welterweight champion, it will be a no-brainer for him to realize his dream of becoming a triple champion.
“If Belal remains champion, it will be a walk in the park,” Topuria told KOI Menello MMA. “For me, winning the welterweight title would be like a walk in the park. [yawns]. that’s it. He’s an asshole. It’s really really the worst. A champion who has never been finished or knocked down. What kind of champion are you? This morning I woke up and saw him say, [Topuria]I’ll slap you. It’s like everyone has a street, gangster attitude. Sometimes I wonder what they’re doing fighting in the UFC and focusing on professional sports. Apparently they’re all gangsters and clowns who don’t want to make eye contact with you later. No one who really can do something will tell you. No barking. He even wants to beat me by decision. I’ll slap you, so shut up. ”
Ilya Topria attacked Belal Muhammad again 😳😳
“If Belal remains champion, it would be no mean feat for me to go up and win the welterweight title…He sucks. Really, really bad…

Muhammad has six finishes, but only three of those came during his 19 promotional stints in the UFC. Muhammad won the title by defeating Leon Edwards by unanimous decision at UFC 304 in July of this year. He is currently scheduled to face undefeated Kazakh challenger Shavkat Rakhmonov at UFC 310 on December 7th at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Topria, meanwhile, has won 13 of his 15 career wins, including seven in the UFC. The undefeated 27-year-old became the youngest reigning champion after knocking out Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 298 in February of this year.
