Betting on World Boxing Association events is currently prohibited in Ontario after an investigation found evidence of “suspicious” betting activity on bouts held late last year.
An investigation was launched in December 2023 following the Yoenis Telles vs. Livan Navarro fight in Orlando, Florida, late last year, according to a release from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario issued Thursday. .
Two Ontario registered integrity monitors and a registered iGaming operator reported suspicious betting patterns during the 5.5-round match, according to the release. The commission also said Telles’ manager allegedly paid $110,000 for the fight.
